Job Responsibilities
In this role, the Welder / Fabricator will work under the supervision of the Leading Hand and Works Manager. Daily tasks may vary depending on project requirements, but they typically include metal preparation, welding, fabrication, and assembly of steel components. Workers are also expected to maintain high workmanship standards while following workplace safety procedures.
Skills and Technical Requirements
Applicants must be able to interpret engineering drawings and work with both mild steel and heavy steel fabrication. Experience with multiple welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, SMAW, and FCAW welding is highly valued. These skills allow workers to complete a wide range of fabrication tasks and produce durable, high-quality metal structures.
Experience and Qualifications
The employer prefers candidates who are qualified tradespeople with at least three years of industry experience in welding or fabrication. Applicants should also have a clean full Class 1 driver’s licence. The ability to think quickly, solve problems, and adapt to changing job requirements is important in this role.
