We are currently recruiting a professional, reliable, and detail-focused Hotel Room Attendant / Housekeeper to join our housekeeping team and support our commitment to exceptional cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Position Overview
The Hotel Room Attendant / Housekeeper maintains the cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation of all guest rooms and assigned service areas. This role directly enhances guest comfort and satisfaction while supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the hotel.
You will work under the direction of the Executive Housekeeper and housekeeping supervisors and complete daily cleaning and servicing tasks in line with Novotel and Accor brand standards. This full-time position offers guaranteed minimum hours of 30 per week, providing stability, consistency, and opportunities for career growth.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
You will clean and service guest rooms, including bedrooms, bathrooms, balconies, and living areas, to meet established hotel standards. You will change bed linen, make beds neatly, vacuum carpets, dust surfaces, mop floors, and sanitise all areas to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests.
Moreover, you will inspect each room after cleaning to confirm it meets quality and presentation standards before releasing it for guest occupancy. You will take responsibility for identifying any maintenance issues and reporting them promptly to the appropriate department.
More so, will maintain cleanliness in hotel corridors, stairwells, storage rooms, and housekeeping service areas. You will keep housekeeping trolleys, linen rooms, and pantries clean, organised, and adequately stocked. You will also participate in scheduled deep-cleaning tasks, including carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and detailed cleaning projects as required.
Also, you will replenish guest amenities such as toiletries, towels, tea and coffee supplies, and other in-room items according to room type and hotel standards. You will monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisors in a timely manner and will handle guest laundry with care, professionalism, and confidentiality, strictly following hotel policies. You will sort, transport, and store linen correctly to prevent damage, loss, or contamination.
Morevoer, will immediately report lost or found property and follow established hotel procedures for logging, storing, and securing items and you will maintain honesty, integrity, and confidentiality at all times.

You will operate housekeeping equipment safely and correctly, clean equipment after use, and store it appropriately. You will report faulty or damaged equipment promptly to ensure workplace safety and operational efficiency.
More so, you will comply with all health and safety requirements, including the safe handling, use, and storage of cleaning chemicals. You will follow correct manual handling techniques to reduce the risk of injury and maintain a safe working environment.
You will follow hotel security procedures, including key control policies, and report any suspicious behaviour, safety hazards, or security concerns immediately.
Also, you will work collaboratively with housekeeping colleagues and other hotel departments. You will respond politely and professionally to guest requests when approached and communicate clearly with supervisors regarding room status, guest needs, and operational issues.
Skills, Experience, and Personal Attributes
You should have at least one year of relevant experience in housekeeping, hotel cleaning, commercial cleaning, or a similar role. Experience in a hotel or hospitality environment will be an advantage, but motivated candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
You must demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. You must be physically capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Moreover, you should manage your time effectively, work efficiently within set timeframes, and follow instructions, policies, and procedures accurately.
You must maintain immaculate grooming and professional personal presentation. You should demonstrate reliability, punctuality, honesty, and the ability to remain calm and organised during busy periods. A positive attitude and pride in your work are essential.
You must be flexible and available to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays, according to hotel operational requirements.
